O hai, Taddy.

O hai, Taddy.

Yes, it’s that funny, mile-a-minute, pink-nosed girl from Storybook Hedgehogs. After two attempts at hoglets between Taddy and Yvaine, Alison has determined that Yvaine’s personality is less suited to being a breeder and better for being in a loving home. Namely, our home!

Please keep in mind the following:

  1. We have no intention of breeding Taddy and Yvaine, for many reasons.
  2. Taddy’s happiness comes first because this was his home first. If he shows any signs of stress due to having a female in the vicinity, we will assess what needs to happen to fix his emotional state. If that means Yvaine needs to go, that is what will happen.
  3. Owning two hedgehogs, especially a male and female, means TWO HOUSES. Please keep that in mind if you ever intend on owning two hedgehogs. They are solitary animals - they don’t need friends and in most cases do not want them, either. Taddy and Yvaine will be kept in separate houses, potentially even in separate rooms.

Being a pet guardian means keeping the needs of your pets at the forefront of your mind. If you have questions about Taddy and Yvaine or hedgehogs in general, feel free to ask!

In the meantime, wish our family happiness as we welcome our newest member, the darling lady Yvaine!

Say hello to Yvaine (again)! I’ll admit these are the best pictures I’ve ever gotten of her because she is usually such a blur!
